with iAnywhere ?

I have pound installed and working in front of an iAnywhere server. It
works great as long as I access the iAnywhere server via a browser. When I
use a handheld it will just retry until it times out and returns "
returned http error from webserver 0x1008". iAnywhere insists that as
long as the pound will proxy http: that the proxy should not be the issue.
The fact remains that it does not work when we access through the proxy.
When we go directly to iAnywhere it works fine. There is no indication of
problems in the syslog or messages.

Has anyone used pound in this fashion? Where else can I look for clues to
the issues?

Thanks for your help.

Try putting an instance of tcpwatch between the client and Pound and see what
the problem is. I have no idea what your handheld objects to (or what Pound
doesn't like about it) - it could be some strange characters in the requests
or no support for strict HTTP. tcpwatch should show you the exact dialog,
including where the error comes.[...]

I will do that and let post the results.

The following is the only entry that shows up in the log while trying to
use the handheld. This repeats 4 times every time the handheld try's to
connect. I am sure it is after the fourth try that the handheld returns
the time out message.

Sep 8 09:46:52 proxy pound: 68.31.124.100 POST /commsvr/csisapi.dll
HTTP/1.0 - HTTP/1.1 200 OK
