Does anyone on this list know enough about Debian to contribute a pound 
1.8 package?

I emailed the pound package maintainer and he is tied up for months--by 
then Sarge will be released and we'll have pound 1.7 instead of 1.8 
getting the benefit of Debian's security team for the next few years.  
We need to act fast since Debian 3.1 (Sarge) will be released soon.

The pound package maintainer indicated he'd be willing to accept 
uploads.  Seems like a great guy open to suggestions, but tied up due to 
move outside his country.
