Feature Request: -v (print version info and exit) / FX <gentoo@sbcglobal.net>

Please consider adding a "-v" or "--version" param to have pound exit 
after displaying version info.

Seconded. I've requested this before but was politely told it wasn't
necessary since I'd managed to obtain the version using the linux
strings command. I wasn't impressed by that solution but I did at least
get a considered response from the author. Perhaps if enough people
request this someone it will be done.

I wasn't very polite... mainly caused I was pissed off at what to me
seemed the lack of a very obvious feature, nay I'd even say
expected/required argument handling.

FYI:  strings command on pound 1.9.4 reveals several "v 1.9 2005/06/01" 
which doesn't indicate 1.9.4.

I'd prefer a "-v" but I'd settle for using strings command if it returns 
the correct version.
