Hello,
is it possible to use pound with other protocols than http and https? I
would like to use it with smtps, pop3s and imaps. The idea behind is the
same: A user shall connect to server a through ssl which in the
background opens a connection to server b the routes all traffic except
the ssl-traffic to it.
Regards
Marten

Hello,
[...]
but as with pound, it doesn't seem to be handling other protocols than
http. I need a solution for smtps, pop3s and imaps. Maybe later ldap,
too, so the solution should be able to handle all protocols. Actually,
it doesn't have to know anything about protocols, it just has to extract
the payload from the ssl-traffic and send it to another server.

The 2 features we use Pound for are loadbalancing and HTTP requests
filtering. Those are 2 things stunnel can not handle.

Have a look at http://www.inlab.de/balance.html I
don't think it will proxy
the ssl the way you want tho.
I would also be interested in any people who have had experience with
Balance vs Pound for http/s
