As promised, I have some numbers to report about pound in our configuration:

6.3 million hits in a 24 hour period

Peak load average of about 0.33 for 10 min average.
Peak CPU usage of about 10-15%

Machine is a single-cpu 2Ghz with 1GB of memory.
