Pound with basic authentication

A little over a year ago, Frank Schmirler submitted a pound 1.8 patch
to this list that allowed pound to do its own authentication (i.e.
before allowing access to the backend) using the Squid authenticators.

My question to the list:

Has anyone done anything similar with more recent versions of pound?
There are a couple of bugs in 1.8 that cause it to be less than stable
for production use, so my hopes were that someone has a similar
implementation with a recent version of pound.

A copy of Frank's original post is here:

Thanks!

Mike

You mean the authentication bits were incorporated into the latest releases?

if so, that's great. I'll check it out!

Thanks,
