Hi
Can you guys tell what OS's you use to test and/or deploy on. I have noted
in the mail archives from around 2003 - 2004 that there were problems with
Free/Open-BSD and RH9.
What OS configurations do you recommend or must have (eg kernel, libraries,
compiler) for installing Pound other than what is on the main website
installation guide?
Regards Mike

I can only tell you about RedHat Linux, where pound runs fine on all
releases from RedHat 7.2 to RHEL4.

Sun T1000/T2000 are also nice for Pound's multi-threaded architecture
Also, UltraSPARC T1 comes with Modular Arithmetic Unit (MAU) per core
which can accelerate expensive modular arithmetic operations found in
public key crypto algorithms such as RSA, DSA and DH.
SSLEngine "pkcs11" in Pound's config should enable this on the Sun Niagara
If you are on AMD64, then you could compile the latest OpenSSL from
source (install it in a non-system path) and compile Pound with it. This
should give you access to the asm optimised rc4

Upgrading to SuSE 10.1 AMD64, compiled fine... seems to run fine. I'll
update you as I test it under load, but I don't expect any problems.
Make sure to include the openssl-dev libraries in YAST, they're not
included by default.
