1) Is there a way to get pound to only log backed status, not traffic.

2) Is there a way to get backend status from pound (using poundctl maybe)

You can change your syslog config to only log warnings and errors to a
separate file, and then search for "dead" and "resurrect" messages.
Alternatively, you can just grep for "dead" or "resurrect" messages in
your logs. You should be able to see when your backend is down and when
its resurrected.[...]
No, not at this time. Though, shouldn't be difficult to do, and could
be useful.

Actually i does log it even if you set loglevel to 0

Mar 26 23:41:36 neon pound: backend 10.0.0.5:80 connect: Connection refused
Mar 26 23:41:42 neon pound: BackEnd 10.0.0.5:80 resurrect

Sorry for bothering you all about that[...][...]
Yes. And some statistics about the backends would be even better.

And a final feature request would be if pound could use a monitorurl to
check for non-200 messages as well. But I guess you can do that with
some other scrip and use poundctl to enable and disable backends...
