Configuration of "dead" servers

Hello Pound group,

Does anyone know if pound marks a server "dead" if it exceeds the
configured "TimeOut value"? Under load my servers do not completely
fail to respond; instead they keep accepting requests but replies are
slow or non-existant.

Also, I am having trouble switching users from http to https. They need
to maintain a sticky session with the machine, and I am currently using
the Session Type IP configuration. This works well on http, but when
the user makes the jump to https they are sometimes balanced to another
server. Is there a better setting to support this?

Thank you for the support.
